That's Me, Marv Eleazer

This website is for those interested in learning or understanding more about me, Marv Eleazer

My daily interest's and taste's are a blend of conservative simplistic design and the eclectic. I revel in being ME! Enjoying a funny joke and laughing uproariously is one of my trademarks. If you're easily offended and breathe air filled with drama I'm likely to offend you without intending to do so.

Simply put-I'm in love with life!  There is nothing better than relaxing at the beach with a favorite beverage and the company of my wonderful wife LoriJo beneath an umbrella.  We share so much in common that it borders on the ridiculous except for politics.  She is an ultra right wing conservative while I float along with Moderate/Centrist opinions about who's in Washington.  We have 9 grandchildren that are scattered to the four winds but love seeing them when we can.  In lieu of their visits Pete & Billy, our twin dachshunds, supply all the entertainment we could ask for.  When my hectic day has ended I finish it off in the company of my lovely wife with a fine cigar and glass of Scotch.

Pete & Billy

Professionally, I'm a Finance Director at a Ford Store in Valdosta, GA having been employed here since 1999.  I started selling Fords in 1979 when interest rates were 18% and 48 months was a long time to finance a car.   I've held a variety of positions but find the most rewarding experiences in the Finance Office.  The challenges of the job makes every day a new adventure!

Together with Tom Wilson I host an exciting FaceBook group named Ethical F&I Managers dedicated to the careers of Finance Professionals in the automotive/powersports/RV industries.  This group is exclusive and private for obvious reasons including the prying eyes of the general public and (some) dimwitted journalists who would take our comments out of context for their own personal gain.

There are two reasons I created this group.  The first was to promote others and bring together a venue that is exclusive of personal rantings thereby galvanizing the thoughts/opinions of the best minds in this business to be shared for the benefit of all.  The second main reason was that there are a lot of trainers in this business that I respect and admire but there are times when their drive to succeed and land that next account overpowers their desire to truly mentor others.  I'm troubled by this so EFI is an opportunity for all members to share common knowledge from the trenches without fear of being solicited or denegrated.

This group is constantly growing and is comprised of some of the most talented people I've

had the pleasure of befriending.  If you're in this profession and want to become a part of something larger than yourself or a newcomer feel free to contact me and I will send you an invitation to join us or simply search the page and request an invitation.

I write occasional articles and am often quoted in several trade journals about the state of the automobile business from the financial perspective.  There is no other profession I'd rather spend my time in than automotive.  I'm certain I will retire from it one day but it's difficult to envision at the moment.  In addition to many automotive related forums I also contribute to the F&I Showroom forum regularly.

Relaxation

Nothing Like A Good Cigar!

One of my great loves is traveling.  I love to visit new places and learn the local culture while sampling cuisine.  My wonderful wife loves relaxing with her passion of gardening and I often help her dig a hole and fertilize.  She feels this innate responsibility to all living things she comes in contact with.  I also collect 1:18 scale die cast models as a hobby and prefer Fords.  I have two rooms at my home decorated with a variety of them form several periods of automobilia with movie posters and the replicas of those movies displayed.  I own a Thunderbird and my wife and I love for spring to arrive so we can uncap the top and let our hair sail in the wind as we cruise down a back road headed for a hole in the wall restaurant in some long forgotten little town .

The easiest way to describe me is 'The Connoisseur of Relaxation'.  Unlike many of my friends, I don't give a damn about spending an afternoon perched in front of a television watching titans bash each other's brains out carrying a football up and down the field much like I can only tolerate a few minutes of a NASCAR race.  I prefer rather the aged company of a fine cigar and a spiritual beverage whilst I waste the day reading a book or listening to fine music.
